West Valley School District No. 208 (Yakima) Calendar 2026-2027

West Valley School District No. 208 serves western Yakima through six neighborhood elementary schools, a shared Mid-Level Campus and West Valley High School. The district spans suburban growth and agricultural edges on the traditional lands of the Yakama Nation. Most students follow this common sequence, meeting a wider group of classmates as elementary communities converge in the middle grades and at the comprehensive high school.

West Valley High offers several ways to build an advanced or career-connected schedule without leaving the main campus. College in the High School agreements with the University of Washington, Central Washington University and Eastern Washington University bring university credit into district classrooms. Career courses include agriculture, health science, business and marketing, computer science, construction, education and welding; eligible courses can carry Yakima Valley College credit, industry credentials or access to paid apprenticeship experience.

The surrounding agricultural economy also shapes student support. West Valley’s Migrant Education Program serves eligible families whose work in agriculture, fishing, logging or related industries requires temporary moves. Home visits, academic counseling, parent engagement, summer learning, leadership opportunities and secondary credit support help students maintain progress when mobility interrupts the school year.

The Innovation Center adds a grades 7–12 choice route with limited enrollment. Students spend most of the day integrating English, mathematics, science and social studies into computer science, health science, aerospace or robotics pathways through mastery-based and hands-on work. It is a substantial alternative within a broader district whose ordinary high school, college-credit courses, career programs and migrant services continue to serve most West Valley students.
