Vancouver Public Schools serves about twenty thousand students across a Columbia River city that includes long-established neighborhoods, newer residential areas and more than one hundred family languages. Twenty-one neighborhood elementary schools provide the ordinary starting point, followed by middle schools and comprehensive high schools. Ruth Bader Ginsburg Elementary operates as a whole-school Spanish-English dual-language choice campus, while Spanish pathways at neighborhood schools can continue through Gaiser or McLoughlin middle schools and Fort Vancouver High School. Franklin Elementary adds Mandarin immersion. Applications and long-term continuity matter because students develop academic literacy in two languages across several grade transitions.

Vancouver iTech Preparatory provides a grades 6–12 project-based STEM route on the Washington State University Vancouver campus, with connections to WSU and Clark College. A Vancouver student may remain rooted in a neighborhood school or travel into a districtwide language, arts or technology sequence. The same system supports both forms of belonging through school-based resource centers and citywide academic choices.
