Trout Lake School District Calendar 2026-2027

A Trout Lake student can move from an elementary design challenge to middle-grade Destination Imagination, high-school robotics and a senior project guided by a community mentor without leaving the district’s single K–12 school. Destination Imagination serves grades four through eight through team-based technical, scientific, artistic and service challenges. The FIRST Robotics program has connected high-school students with engineering, programming, fabrication and competition for more than a decade. Senior projects ask graduates to work with adult mentors and present sustained learning to a public audience. Projects become more independent with age, creating a visible progression from collaborative problem solving to postsecondary planning.

Cross-age events create another line of continuity. Holiday activities pair older and younger students to make items for the community, elementary literacy work brings families into the school, and shared facilities serve public recreation as well as classes. Volunteers, local organizations and families supply expertise that one small staff could not hold on its own. Trout Lake’s one-campus model gives students a project ladder in which they gradually become designers, team leaders, mentors and presenters before graduation.
