Toutle Lake School District Calendar 2026-2027

Toutle Lake School District sits on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, serving Toutle, Silver Lake and rural households west of Mount St. Helens. The district name joins its two principal communities. Toutle Lake Elementary carries kindergarten through sixth grade, and Toutle Lake Junior/Senior High begins in seventh. Nearly seven hundred students share one school center, continuing a local school system whose first high-school graduating class numbered nine students in 1933.

Current district and junior/senior-high messages organize school life around four district values—community, integrity, humility and excellence—and the GROW framework of goal setting, resilience, opportunity and well-being. Students enter the secondary years without leaving the larger campus community. Advising, athletics, performances and student leadership expand as they move toward graduation, while families continue to use the same central site for many public events.

The junior/senior high school moved to a trimester schedule in 2025–26, creating three shorter terms and additional room for electives, intervention and credit recovery. Staff also use a weekly ninety-minute professional-learning period to review student data, set common goals and strengthen Response to Intervention. These operating changes connect directly to the district’s current strategic priorities in academic excellence, safety and stewardship. The school calendar and staff week have changed, while Toutle and Silver Lake still share one K–12 community along the highway.
