North Thurston Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

North Thurston Public Schools serves Lacey and northeastern Thurston County through a neighborhood network of thirteen elementary campuses, four middle schools and the North Thurston, Timberline and River Ridge high-school communities. Each high school carries a distinct attendance community within a district shaped by established neighborhoods and continued residential growth. The scale gives families a local feeder while supporting districtwide arts, athletics and advanced coursework.

Career and technical education reaches across the network through more than ninety individual class options in six program areas. Agriculture, marketing, culinary and family sciences, health careers, engineering and skilled trades allow students to build sustained pathways inside their home high school. Students can choose from more than one hundred dual-credit classes, including AP, college courses taught on high-school campuses, qualifying career classes and Running Start.

Proximity to Joint Base Lewis-McChord makes military mobility part of daily school work. Family support helps with enrollment, records and reconnection to activities after moves between states or countries. The district's formal partnership with the Nisqually Indian Tribe places consultation and local tribal sovereignty within its public responsibilities.

Spanish-English dual-language education expands again in 2026–27. Lydia Hawk continues through fifth grade, Mountain View through third, Pleasant Glade through second, and Nisqually Middle adds sixth-grade science and social studies for students continuing from elementary programs. North Thurston's breadth comes from the interaction of Lacey's growth, military families, Nisqually partnership, language learning and a large secondary course network.
