North Beach School District Calendar 2026-2027

North Beach School District stretches for roughly twenty-five miles along Washington's outer coast. Ocean Shores and Pacific Beach elementary schools each serve early learning through sixth grade, preserving two local childhood communities. Students meet in seventh grade at the shared North Beach secondary campus and remain together through graduation.

Long north-south bus routes, winter storms and tsunami preparation are routine parts of family planning. Tourism, fishing, hospitality and year-round local services shape the economy around the schools. At the secondary level, business, family and consumer sciences, music, athletics and community activities give students ways to connect coursework with the coastal communities they know.

The district's two-elementary structure matters socially as well as geographically. Children can remain close to Ocean Shores or the northern beach communities through sixth grade, then build one Hyak identity as adolescents. Families from opposite ends of the district travel to the same concerts, games and graduation events.

A planned vertical-evacuation structure at Ocean Shores Elementary reflects the coast's public-safety needs. As of August 4, 2026, the district was accepting construction bids, so the project remained in procurement and had not become an operating refuge. The current district is already defined by two K–6 coastal schools, one common secondary route and an educational experience shaped by distance, weather and the Pacific.
