100. Lakewood School District

North Lakewood is a school community spread across households that may use Marysville or Arlington mailing addresses. Three elementary schools—Cougar Creek, English Crossing and Lakewood—preserve separate early-grade communities. Their students come together at Lakewood Middle School and continue to Lakewood High School, creating a simple three-to-one merger before the secondary years.

The high school’s size supports a broad local program while keeping one shared identity. Students can pursue Advanced Placement, College in the High School and career and technical courses, and they can join music, theater, athletics, FFA and other clubs. Agriculture and applied learning remain visible in a district surrounded by rural land even as residential growth changes the area. Juniors and seniors can also split part of the day between Lakewood and Sno-Isle TECH for specialized regional training, and college classes provide another route beyond the high-school campus.

Lakewood’s boundaries matter because city names alone can be misleading. A family may live closer to a school operated by Marysville or Arlington and still belong to this smaller district. Once enrolled, however, students share a coherent progression: neighborhood elementary years, a districtwide middle school and a single comprehensive high school. That pattern gives the district both local variety in the early grades and a common identity by adolescence.
