Kennewick School District Calendar 2026-2027

Kennewick School District is one of the largest systems in southeastern Washington, serving a fast-growing Tri-Cities community beside the Columbia River. Its network includes thirty-three schools and learning programs and more than 18,000 students. Neighborhood elementary and middle schools feed Kamiakin, Kennewick and Southridge high schools, each with its own activities and traditions inside a district shaped by agriculture, food processing, health care, manufacturing and regional research.

Language learning is a long-established part of that system. Kennewick has provided dual-language education for two decades, with one-way and two-way programs at several elementary schools. The pathways support bilingual students and bring English- and Spanish-speaking families into shared classrooms. More than 200 clubs and co-curricular activities give the district’s large enrollment many smaller communities within the larger system.

College and career preparation is similarly varied. The three comprehensive high schools and selected middle schools provide CTE courses, while more than fifty industry and career certification options lead toward practical credentials. Dual-credit programs, worksite learning and seven routes for accelerating postsecondary education let students combine high school with college or employment preparation. Tri-Tech Skills Center adds concentrated regional training, and Phoenix High School or Mid-Columbia Partnership provide alternative learning environments. Kennewick’s scale can appear complicated, yet it gives families a rare combination in central Washington: neighborhood schools, established bilingual education, three comprehensive high schools and a wide internal network of technical, college and activity choices.
