75. Granger School District

Granger School District reflects the bilingual agricultural communities of the Lower Yakima Valley. Children begin at Roosevelt Elementary, move to Granger Middle School in fifth grade and enter Granger High School in ninth. The three-school route keeps the district compact, while Spanish and English shape daily communication, instruction and community events across every stage. Dual-language work is tied to academic learning and cultural understanding. Roosevelt students study history and community through experiences such as Día de los Muertos, and district Folklórico performers bring dance, music and cultural pride into elementary and secondary gatherings. These activities give students public roles as performers and leaders while allowing families to see their own language and traditions treated as educational resources.

At Granger High, college and career preparation reaches far beyond a basic rural course list. Career pathways run from business to agriculture, welding, robotics and other technical fields. College in the High School can allow a student to earn up to ninety-three college credits tuition-free on the Granger campus, creating a substantial head start without a daily trip to a college. Athletics, clubs and family events remain central in a small district where students are widely known. Granger’s educational character comes from the way bilingualism, cultural arts, agricultural life and ambitious postsecondary opportunities reinforce one another from elementary school through graduation.
