Kittitas School District Calendar 2026-2027

Kittitas keeps its public-school path within two school communities. Students begin at Kittitas Elementary School and later enter Kittitas Secondary School, where the middle- and high-school years share one institution. The first transition changes the campus. The second occurs inside the secondary school as ninth-graders begin earning high-school credit, plan graduation requirements and take on a different range of activities. At that point the school name stays the same, while the academic expectations clearly change.

The secondary program draws heavily on the working life of the Kittitas Valley. Agriculture, business and technology courses lead into FFA, FCCLA and TSA activities, giving students places to apply classroom work through projects, leadership and competition. FFA’s local presence includes livestock, agronomy and trapshooting activities that connect the school to the county’s agricultural culture. Arts, athletics and student organizations share the same small secondary setting, so middle-school students can see many of the opportunities that await them before they formally enter high school. Kittitas is a two-school district with several internal stages: an elementary beginning, a combined secondary home, and a ninth-grade shift into credits and postsecondary planning without another campus handoff.
