Mabton School District Calendar 2026-2027

Spanish and English are both part of daily school life in Mabton, a small agricultural community in the Lower Yakima Valley. Artz-Fox Elementary carries children through sixth grade, after which the entire cohort enters Mabton Junior/Senior High School for grades seven through twelve. Grade seven brings the physical move to a secondary campus; grade nine begins high-school credits and graduation planning inside the same institution. Students spend long stretches in two stable school communities, with the junior-high years housed inside the secondary campus.

Dual-language instruction and bilingual family communication are central parts of the district’s work. English and Spanish are used to help students develop academic fluency while maintaining access for families whose home language is Spanish. Migrant education, extended learning and student support address the disruptions that seasonal work and mobility can create. At the secondary level, career and technical courses, FFA, athletics and college-credit opportunities connect students to agriculture, business, technology and postsecondary study. Mabton’s school system is shaped by a clear two-campus route and by the effort to turn bilingualism, local industry and strong family ties into assets carried through graduation.
