Goldendale School District Calendar 2026-2027

Goldendale is a small regional center for ranch, farm and forest communities across central Klickitat County. Goldendale Primary serves kindergarten through fourth grade, Goldendale Middle begins in fifth grade, and Goldendale High School completes the local route. Students move into a districtwide middle-school community earlier than many Washington children, then remain together through a high school whose programs reflect the land and working economy around the town.

Agriscience is built into the academic program as well as the activity calendar. Ninth-grade agriculture, food and natural-resources study uses soils, hydroponics, plants and ecosystems as laboratory science. Older students can continue into plant biology, animal biology, food science and metal fabrication, where farm machinery, welding and shop safety become course material. Business, financial algebra, woodworking and leadership add other applied directions. FFA, arts, athletics and Running Start give students ways to carry those interests into competition, performance, college credit or work.

Washington Connections Academy places a statewide K–12 online school under Goldendale’s administration. Its students learn from homes across Washington and follow a virtual program, a very different experience from attending Primary, Middle and High in town. Local students still know Goldendale through three physical schools and a secondary curriculum that treats agriculture, natural resources, fabrication and rural enterprise as serious academic work.
