Ellensburg School District Calendar 2026-2027

Ellensburg sits at the meeting point of a university town and an agricultural valley. Central Washington University, public agencies, tourism, farms and outdoor recreation all influence local life. Four elementary schools feed Morgan Middle School and Ellensburg High School, giving most students one common secondary route while the surrounding institutions greatly enlarge the settings available for learning.

At Ellensburg High, career and technical education spans agriculture, business and marketing, computer science, family and consumer sciences, and skilled and technical fields. Band, choir, orchestra and theater share the activity landscape with FFA, DECA, FBLA, construction, coding and cybersecurity, environmental work and a climbing club that uses facilities at both the high school and Central Washington University. A student can move among farm, campus, workshop, stage and outdoor recreation without leaving the local community.

Big Picture, Home Connection and the virtual academy provide project-based, home-centered and online alternatives through Ellensburg Choice Schools. Most children still follow the elementary-to-Morgan-to-EHS progression, but the university and valley give that route unusual range. Advanced study and the arts coexist with land-based work, technical skills and community organizations as ordinary parts of an Ellensburg education.
