Glenwood School District Calendar 2026-2027

Glenwood School District keeps roughly sixty students from the first school years through graduation on one remote Klickitat County campus. Elementary and secondary students share a common school community while moving into different teachers, subjects, credits and activities as they grow. Concerts, homecoming, fundraisers and public events make the school one of the places where the wider Glenwood community repeatedly gathers.

Special Subject Clubs bring local knowledge into the weekly schedule. For ten Wednesdays each semester, community volunteers lead small groups in areas such as food preservation, fabric arts, medical services, martial arts, college and career planning, and Pacific Northwest geology. Earlier club cycles have included auto mechanics, outdoor survival, greenhouse work, animal science, Native culture and forestry. The rotating format gives students access to adult expertise that a very small permanent staff could not represent on its own.

Secondary learning also reaches into the region’s natural-resource and technical work. In the district’s 2023 YESS program, students earned academic credit while working with partners including a nursery, the Department of Natural Resources, Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge and a local mill. Wood and metal shop, science and career electives continue the applied emphasis inside the school. A Glenwood student can move from a community-led club to fieldwork, a shop project, a performance or graduation without leaving the relationships of the same K–12 campus.
