White Pass School District Calendar 2026-2027

White Pass School District follows the upper Cowlitz River through Randle, Packwood, Glenoma and the mountain communities around them. White Pass Elementary serves kindergarten through sixth grade, and White Pass Junior/Senior High carries students from seventh grade to graduation. Long travel distances remain visible after the school day: GEAR UP tutoring buses run west toward Glenoma and east toward Packwood so secondary students can use academic support without losing their route home.

The district has begun building career preparation around services the valley itself needs. In January 2026, White Pass launched a nursing-assistant course taught at Arbor Health Hospital in Morton. Classes run inside the school day from 1 to 3 p.m., and White Pass provides transportation, while GEAR UP covers curriculum, testing and licensing costs. The first three students completed training in May, passed the state examination in June and became licensed CNAs. The arrangement gives mountain-valley students a supported route into health care without requiring families to locate and transport them to an outside program on their own.

Community support continues after graduation. Volunteers from Randle, Packwood and Glenoma operate the White Pass Scholarship Fund through donations, business sponsorships and an annual auction. In 2026, fifteen seniors received more than $102,000 for trade schools, certificate programs, community colleges and universities. The first CNA cohort shows how a student can grow up in a two-school mountain district, earn a professional credential before graduation and enter further education with support raised by the same communities along the river.
