Sumner-Bonney Lake School District Calendar 2027-2028

The district name preserves two community centers. Sumner’s older valley neighborhoods and Bonney Lake’s plateau and lakeside communities are served by nine elementary campuses, three middle schools and the comprehensive high schools in each city. Students may begin in very different settings, then meet through shared activities, district programs and the two secondary communities anchored by Sumner High and Bonney Lake High.

Family support extends beyond enrollment and classroom instruction. The Sumner-Bonney Lake Family Resource Center helps households reach food, clothing, housing, health, parenting and school-related assistance. Multilingual families can receive Spanish-language support, and the district reports roughly forty home languages across its schools. These services matter in a system covering established towns, rural edges and fast-growing residential areas.

The district’s public responsibility can continue after the conventional high-school years. Its Community Based Transition Program serves eligible young adults ages eighteen through twenty-two through internships, travel training, independent-living work and partnerships with local employers. Participants have completed thousands of hours in community workplaces while district staff support the move toward adult routines.

A student’s route may begin in a neighborhood elementary school and continue into a real workplace supported by the same district. Sumner-Bonney Lake is held together by two cities, two comprehensive high schools and a community network that reaches families across several stages of life.
