Shelton School District Calendar 2026-2027

Shelton School District serves the county seat and surrounding Mason County communities through a distinctive sequence of age centers. Bordeaux, Evergreen and Mountain View elementary schools serve K–4 neighborhoods. Every fifth- and sixth-grader then enters Olympic Middle School, grades seven and eight attend Oakland Bay Junior High, and ninth grade begins at Shelton High School. CHOICE offers a smaller grades 7–12 setting with flexible scheduling for students who need another daily structure.

Native education is present across that entire route. Student advocates and paraeducators work in elementary, middle, junior-high and high-school buildings, supporting Native students and maintaining family connections through each transition. This districtwide network matters in an area with strong ties to the Squaxin Island and Skokomish communities; it follows students and prevents each new school from having to rebuild the relationship from the beginning.

Career learning grows from exploration at Oakland Bay into high-school courses, dual credit and structured work-site experience. Students can study engineering, computer science, environmental fields, health care, welding and other technical areas, then apply those skills with community employers or college partners. Shelton’s many building changes create clear age communities, while Native advocates and career pathways provide continuity from one stage to the next.
