Roosevelt School District No. 66 Calendar 2026-2027

Roosevelt School District No. 403 operates one kindergarten-through-sixth-grade school beside the Columbia River. Around thirty students share a program deliberately broader than the headcount suggests. Teachers integrate subjects so that a new idea can reappear in literacy, social studies, science or a practical project, an approach the district uses to support both native English speakers and English learners. Science and STEM receive particular emphasis through hands-on work, while physical education, art and music remain part of the regular program. In a school this small, breadth comes from connecting disciplines and staff roles across the same group of children.

Local schooling ends after sixth grade. Families then choose between Goldendale and Bickleton for grades seven through twelve. The receiving system determines daily travel, course offerings, athletics and the middle- and high-school calendar, while younger siblings may still be working through Roosevelt’s integrated K–6 program. The transition creates two possible adolescent routes after one common elementary beginning: a child can spend seven years in the district’s single school, then join either of two neighboring secondary communities.
