Ridgefield School District Calendar 2026-2027

Ridgefield is preparing to begin 2026–27 with a third elementary school and a revised grade structure. Union Ridge and South Ridge continue serving elementary students, while Sunset Ridge Elementary is scheduled to open at the start of the school year. The approved configuration places kindergarten through fifth grade in the three elementary schools, grades six through eight at View Ridge Middle School and grades nine through twelve at Ridgefield High School. Fifth grade will return to elementary school as the new campus enters service.

The transition reflects a town changing from a small agricultural community into one of north Clark County's fastest-growing residential areas. Families who remember a much smaller district now share schools with new neighborhoods near Interstate 5. Boundary work, staffing and transportation have been rebuilt around the planned third elementary school, so its launch will affect the district far beyond one site.

At the high-school level, Innovation Ridge CAPS connects juniors and seniors with profession-based projects in business and marketing, digital design, engineering and health services. Students work with community partners during selected periods while retaining their Ridgefield High courses and activities. Wisdom Ridge Academy offers another flexible public-school route.

Growth is visible to students in concrete ways: a fifth-grader stays in an elementary community that would previously have ended a year earlier, a sixth-grader enters a newly defined middle school, and an older student may work on a project for a local organization in a community still building around the schools.
