Nooksack Valley School District Calendar 2026-2027

Nooksack, Everson and Sumas form the three elementary communities of Nooksack Valley School District. Their students later come together at Nooksack Valley Middle School and Nooksack Valley High School, creating a shared secondary community across the northern Whatcom County valley. Farms, food processing, border travel and seasonal household movement all shape the families served by the district.

Many households use more than one language. Migrant Education, English-language development, translated communication and a bilingual resource liaison help parents navigate enrollment, services and graduation planning. Those supports matter at the point when children leave a town-based elementary school and enter a common middle or high school with families from two other communities.

Agriculture and FFA remain highly visible in the upper grades. Livestock work, plant sales and agricultural mechanics connect courses with the valley's production economy. Business, accounting, culinary work and Pioneer Catering add service and entrepreneurship, while other career courses can lead to dual credit, workplace credentials and OSHA training. A student may begin in one of three local elementary communities, then serve families from across the valley through a catered event, plant sale or FFA activity after the district comes together.
