Nine Mile Falls School District Calendar 2027-2028

Nine Mile Falls School District does not revolve around an incorporated town. Its boundary follows both sides of the Spokane River and Lake Spokane for roughly thirty miles, crossing Spokane and Stevens counties through forests, small farms, large residential lots and lake-access neighborhoods. Many adults commute toward Spokane, while the district itself is the area's largest employer and one of its few institutions serving the whole corridor.

Children begin at Nine Mile Falls Elementary or Lake Spokane Elementary, then the two communities come together at Lakeside Middle School and Lakeside High School. That merger gives families scattered along river and lake roads a common set of teams, performances, student organizations and graduation traditions. The schools also supply much of the area's organized recreation, so a concert or game can function as a community gathering in a place with no municipal center.

The 9 Mile Family Partnership Program extends the district to K–8 families who organize much of the week around learning at home. Written plans, certificated-teacher oversight and scheduled activities keep those students connected to public school. Some families experience Nine Mile Falls through a long daily bus route to Lakeside; others know it through home study and regular district contact. Both rely on the schools to connect households spread across the same river-and-lake landscape.
