Methow Valley School District Calendar 2026-2027

The Methow Valley’s public-school system stretches through Twisp, Winthrop, Mazama and a long corridor of surrounding rural communities. Most students begin at Methow Valley Elementary School and continue to Liberty Bell Junior-Senior High School for grades six through twelve. Outdoor education, arts, athletics and community partnerships draw heavily on the valley’s landscape and the concentration of local organizations, craftspeople and small businesses.

Liberty Bell provides the comprehensive secondary route, including career and technical education, dual-credit courses and work-based learning. The district ended its International Baccalaureate programs beginning in fall 2024; older IB references now describe a former program. The present academic program continues through locally designed courses, college-credit opportunities and graduation pathways developed after IB.

Independent Learning Center offers a smaller grades 9–12 choice school at TwispWorks. Advisories, exhibitions, internships and community mentors allow student interests to shape projects and competency evidence. Welding, automotive learning and other technical spaces place parts of the school day beside businesses and nonprofit organizations on the TwispWorks campus. REACH adds a family-directed K–12 option for students who need another balance of home study and district support.

Facilities planning is active, but the current programs remain in place for 2026–27. A community task force is studying future space for ILC and career-technical education and is expected to complete its work in 2027. For 2026–27, ILC remains at TwispWorks; any new secondary campus belongs to a later decision. Methow Valley’s present identity lies in a comprehensive 6–12 school, a community-embedded choice high school and learning opportunities that use the valley itself as a classroom.
