Lynden School District Calendar 2026-2027

Agricultural fields, new housing and small businesses meet inside Lynden’s growing school system near the Canadian border. Students in the regular attendance system move from neighborhood elementary schools to Lynden Middle School and then Lynden High School. A shared middle school and comprehensive high school bring the elementary communities together, creating a common secondary identity for the town and surrounding rural area.

The high school’s career and technical program reflects both local industries and newer fields. Agriculture, business, health sciences, culinary arts, construction, metal fabrication, multimedia, cybersecurity, robotics and engineering give students several ways to combine academics with applied work. Some courses carry dual credit, and FFA, leadership organizations, athletics, music and theater extend those interests beyond the classroom. The breadth of the program lets students prepare for university, technical training or employment without leaving the local high school for every specialized course.

Lynden Academy and Home Connect serve families seeking a more home-centered public education. Academy students attend scheduled classes on selected days by grade level while parents direct much of the remaining work. Home Connect places more learning offsite and uses a written plan, weekly contact and certificated oversight. High-school participants may still use Lynden High courses and activities, and the district maintains transcript and diploma responsibility. The two routes add flexibility to a district whose main structure remains a neighborhood elementary system flowing into shared middle and high-school campuses.
