Enumclaw School District Calendar 2027-2028

Enumclaw School District reaches far beyond the city that gives it its name. Its buses cross hundreds of square miles, carrying students from Black Diamond, Cumberland, Greenwater, Ravensdale, Selleck and the rural foothills into a shared public-school system. Five elementary communities currently feed Enumclaw or Thunder Mountain middle school, and both routes meet at Enumclaw High School. A family’s daily experience can differ sharply by location: some children live near the city campuses, while others spend much of the route passing farms, forests and mountain roads.

Enumclaw High gives that dispersed district a common academic and activity center. Career and technical education spans agricultural science, engineering, health sciences, business, skilled trades and family and consumer sciences, reflecting both the working landscape around the plateau and careers available across the Puget Sound region. Visual and performing arts, athletics and student organizations add another set of ways for students from distant communities to build one district identity.

Growth is changing the Black Diamond side of the map. Evergreen Elementary is under construction in the Ten Trails development after years of planning among the district, the city and the developer. It is scheduled to open in fall 2027, so it does not alter 2026–27 assignments. The project captures Enumclaw’s central tension: a long-established rural and mountain district is absorbing substantial suburban growth while trying to preserve access, program breadth and a sense of community across a very large territory.
