Dieringer School District Calendar 2027-2028

Dieringer School District wraps around the northern two-thirds of Lake Tapps, a reservoir created from four smaller lakes and shaped by more than forty miles of shoreline. The district covers only about 5.5 square miles, yet its three schools serve as public hubs for neighborhoods between Auburn, Bonney Lake, Sumner and the White and Stuck rivers. Local school history reaches back to 1890, with Dieringer and Lake Tapps consolidating in 1936.

A child’s elementary route is unusually memorable. Dieringer Heights serves preschool and kindergarten, Lake Tapps Elementary receives grades one through three, and students return to Dieringer Heights for grades four and five before entering North Tapps Middle School. The return to a former campus is a planned districtwide progression, giving families two elementary communities that serve consecutive parts of the same childhood route.

Community organizations add resources at every stage. In 2025 the Dieringer Education Foundation awarded $45,000 across the three schools, including principal grants for immediate needs and funding for teacher-designed projects. PTA and PTSA groups, athletics, childcare and family events further extend the school day. After eighth grade, resident students continue through the established Sumner-Bonney Lake arrangement and may choose Bonney Lake or Sumner High School. The local K–8 path is self-contained and outward-looking: a lake-centered community supports three schools before students select one of two larger high-school environments.
