Cosmopolis School District Calendar 2026-2027

Cosmopolis Elementary has served its Grays Harbor town through several generations and five school buildings dating back to the nineteenth century. The present K–6 campus continues that local role. Children spend their elementary years in one school community where teachers, families and town residents see one another across classrooms, events and daily routines. The district’s mission emphasizes curiosity, confidence, whole-child development and family engagement, goals that fit a system small enough for individual learners to remain visible.

Local history gives the school a strong sense of continuity. Earlier Cosmopolis buildings once served older grades, and historical materials preserve the story of a town that expanded around its schools. Today the campus concentrates the district’s entire instructional program, including elementary academics, highly capable and special-education services, schoolwide activities and the relationships that make a small public school one of the town’s central institutions.

The local path ends after sixth grade. Students enter a secondary system outside Cosmopolis for grade seven, so the move brings new teachers, transportation, activities and a different district calendar. The receiving school depends on the current interdistrict arrangement and the individual student’s enrollment. That transition is a major family milestone, yet it follows seven years in a school whose history and community role are distinctly Cosmopolis.
