Grapeview School District Calendar 2026-2027

Grapeview School sits in a rural Mason County community of Puget Sound shoreline, lakes and wooded roads. About 240 students attend the district’s single TK–8 campus. Transitional kindergarten through fifth grade use the main building, while grades six through eight form a middle-school community in adjacent classrooms. The scale allows children to remain known across many years, and school events can bring nearly the whole district together.

Community participation is unusually visible. Many retired residents volunteer and support local levies, parents take active roles in school programs, and shared services with neighboring districts and Educational Service District 113 add counseling, nursing, special education and other expertise that a small staff could not maintain alone. Middle-school students participate in the Tri-County Athletic League, giving them a broader competitive community while they retain their daily base in Grapeview.

The local district ends after eighth grade. Students generally continue to North Mason or Shelton high schools, where they enter larger course catalogs, activity programs and graduation systems. A family may have a younger child in Grapeview and an older student in another district. That secondary handoff is important, yet it follows nine years in a school shaped by waterfront geography, active volunteers, close parent involvement and a deliberate commitment to academic, creative and social-emotional growth.
