Boistfort School District Calendar 2026-2027

Boistfort School in Curtis is the educational center of a rural Lewis County valley. The physical campus serves kindergarten through eighth grade, keeping children in one local school through the elementary and middle years. Its gym, library, performances and family events also draw residents whose connection to the building extends beyond the school day. The parent-teacher organization funds field trips, swim lessons, equipment and classroom materials while organizing events such as the spring concert raffle, Pastries with Parents and Turkey Bingo.

Music has become part of the school’s academic foundation. Every K–8 student receives music instruction as a core subject in a dedicated room created from previously unused space. Younger children reinforce phonics and multiplication through songs. Middle-school musicians learn to assess their performances with festival rubrics, play at community assemblies and compete as a small ensemble. Donations, grants and repaired instruments have made participation possible for the full student body, giving a rural school a program that grows with children across nine grade levels.

Boistfort now extends beyond the Curtis campus through Boistfort Online School, a public grades 3–12 route with weekly teacher contact and individualized plans. Resident high-school students may use that online program or continue into approved in-person placements such as W. F. West or Adna. These later choices widen the district’s reach, while the daily center remains the K–8 school where music, family participation and shared community events shape childhood in the valley.
