Battle Ground Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Battle Ground Public Schools covers a large stretch of northern Clark County, from growing suburban neighborhoods to farms, forest roads and small rural communities. The present district grew out of dozens of earlier local school systems, and that history remains visible in its widely dispersed primary and middle schools. Seven primary schools serve kindergarten through fourth grade, six middle schools begin in fifth grade, and the regular secondary routes lead to Battle Ground High School or Prairie High School. Students enter a broader age community one year earlier than in a conventional K–5 system.

The district’s career program is unusually broad for the region. Agriculture, construction, health sciences, manufacturing, media, information technology, business and public safety are among the pathways available, often with college credit or industry-connected work. CASEE—the Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education—gives high-school students a half-day block on an eighty-acre site. Laboratory science, English and career education are taught through environmental and agricultural questions, allowing field research and technical work to become part of the core schedule. Students can also use Cascadia Technical Academy for additional regional training.

Battle Ground’s size produces different family experiences inside one system. River HomeLink blends parent-directed study with scheduled district instruction, while CAM Academy and virtual options create other choice routes. The Family and Community Resource Center helps families obtain clothing, food, hygiene supplies and connections to local services when economic barriers interfere with school participation. Across 273 square miles, families may live far apart and use very different learning arrangements, yet two comprehensive high schools, districtwide career programs and common support services keep those communities connected.
