Woodland Public Schools Calendar 2027-2028

Woodland Public Schools spans two distinct geographies. Columbia and North Fork elementary schools serve the growing city near Interstate 5, while Yale Elementary remains far upriver on Lewis River Road in Ariel. Those three elementary communities later meet at Woodland Middle School and Woodland High School. TEAM High School, Lewis River Academy and Partners in Transition add smaller or more flexible routes around that regular progression.

Language support has become part of the district’s ordinary infrastructure. More than two hundred students receive active or recently completed multilingual services, and middle- and high-school teachers provide language development within academic subjects. Yale’s smaller upriver community and Woodland’s growing neighborhoods enter one secondary system with different transportation, cultural and family needs.

Woodland High has also made civic participation a graduation distinction. It became the first school in Washington to offer a Civics Diploma Seal. Students build portfolios around justice, civility, citizenship, self-discipline and service by attending civic meetings, completing community work, observing public institutions, interviewing professionals and presenting their learning in a senior interview.

The seal gives the district’s “career, life and college” mission a public dimension. A student may begin in an upriver elementary school, receive language support in Woodland or study partly through Lewis River Academy, then finish high school by documenting how learning connects to local government and community responsibility.
