Winlock School District Calendar 2027-2028

Winlock School District serves an agricultural Lewis County town whose location near Interstate 5 now connects it easily with the wider region. Students begin at Winlock Miller Elementary and later enter Winlock Middle High School, giving the district two main school communities from preschool through graduation. The Cardinal identity crosses both sites, while elementary classrooms and the combined middle-high campus create clearly different stages of childhood and adolescence.

The earliest stage has received statewide recognition. Winlock’s full-day ECEAP preschool earned Level 5, the highest rating in Washington’s Early Achievers system, for child outcomes, kindergarten readiness, curriculum, staff development and family engagement. At the other end of the sequence, middle- and high-school music includes band and choir, while SkillsUSA students have designed and sold Cardinal apparel through applied art and production work.

Community arts connect the age groups. The 2026 production of *OZ!* held elementary auditions at Winlock Miller and middle- and high-school auditions at the secondary campus before bringing the cast together for performances in the middle-school gym. A child can enter through a highly rated preschool, see older students perform in a shared town venue and later take a role in the same districtwide production. Winlock’s two-school structure supports that continuity while still giving each age group its own daily setting.
