South Kitsap School District Calendar 2026-2027

South Kitsap School District serves Port Orchard and the surrounding peninsula on the ancestral lands of the Suquamish people. Neighborhood elementary and middle schools cover a broad area of shoreline, rural roads and growing residential communities. Those routes converge at South Kitsap High School, one large comprehensive campus whose activities and graduation traditions create a districtwide identity.

Military and maritime employment shape many family lives. Parents may work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, serve in the armed forces or commute across the peninsula, bringing moves, deployments and changing schedules into school planning. District support for military-connected students and families helps maintain continuity when records, housing or household routines change.
