Shoreline School District Calendar 2026-2027

Shoreline School District serves the compact communities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park immediately north of Seattle. Neighborhood elementary schools feed Einstein or Kellogg middle school and then Shorewood or Shorecrest High School. The two high-school communities retain distinct traditions, while a short geographic distance makes districtwide arts, athletics and specialized programs accessible to families across the boundary.

Students bring more than eighty home languages into the schools, so interpretation and multilingual support are routine parts of family communication. The Spanish-English dual-language pathway gives that diversity a continuous academic structure: students begin at Briarcrest Elementary, continue at Kellogg Middle School and can carry advanced Spanish study into Shorecrest High School. The route lets a cohort remain together across three stages without turning the program into a separate K–12 campus.

Cascade K–8 and the Home Education Exchange create other ways to organize the school years, and Edwin Pratt Early Learning Center gives many families an entry point before kindergarten. Shoreline’s small physical footprint contains several different progressions, but the ordinary neighborhood system remains easy to recognize. A family can choose a specialized route while still participating in a district where two comprehensive high schools anchor community life.
