Okanogan School District Calendar 2026-2027

Okanogan School District serves a small regional center along the Okanogan River, drawing students from town, nearby ranch and orchard country, and communities connected to the Colville Reservation. Virginia Grainger Elementary, Okanogan Middle School and Okanogan High School form the regular progression. Multilingual, migrant and Native families bring several histories and patterns of work into the same Bulldog community.

Indian Education, Title VI and the Johnson-O'Malley program connect eligible students with curriculum, activities, equipment and family participation. In 2026, the district's Native American director reported growing JOM enrollment after eligibility expanded to include descendants, and the JOM Parent Advisory Committee remained involved in the program. Transitional bilingual instruction, interpretation and migrant education support language access and continuity across the schools.

Career and technical education reaches a remarkable range of fields within this small regional system. In spring 2026, the district reported six CTE teachers and thirty-three vocational sections. Students presented work in American Sign Language, middle-school STEM and 3D design, FFA and college-credit agriculture, visual art, drafting and construction, and FBLA. Projects ranged from scale models and a built saddle stand to blankets made for local veterans. Okanogan ties a common three-school route to Native family participation, language support and practical work that lets students build, design, communicate and serve before graduation.
