McCleary School District Calendar 2026-2027

McCleary’s public-school route in eastern Grays Harbor County is local through eighth grade and regional after that. Its preschool-through-eighth-grade campus is a gathering place for the town, with elementary classrooms, middle-grade courses, athletics, arts, science and technology operating inside one local system. Programs such as the school garden, food service, family support and community activities give students experiences that reach beyond a basic classroom schedule. Children can spend their first nine school years with the same district even as their teachers and academic responsibilities change.

High school begins outside McCleary. After eighth grade, students enroll in regional high schools, and the receiving system controls courses, activities, credits and graduation. McCleary continues to finance that stage through nonhigh payments, a responsibility supported through local levy funding. Families may remain McCleary residents while their teenagers build a daily life in another district. The largest transition is both educational and geographic: one K–8 community gives way to a regional high-school choice, while the home district remains financially involved through graduation.
