Lyle School District Calendar 2026-2027

School buses converge on Lyle from Dallesport, Appleton, High Prairie, Timber Valley, Murdock and other Columbia Gorge communities. The district’s students now gather at the Lyle campus for the elementary, middle and high-school years. That concentration gives a small population access to one set of teachers, activities and community events while buses cover very different roads and elevations to bring children to school.

The name Dallesport Elementary remains part of the current school system even though its classes operate in Lyle. It preserves the identity of a community whose former school building closed years ago. For families, the practical arrangement is a consolidated campus with grade-level divisions inside it. Weather can still affect the Dallesport, Appleton and High Prairie routes differently, so geography remains visible in transportation even after instruction has moved to one location.

Students grow up within a compact PreK–12 environment where arts, music, athletics and career exploration cross age boundaries. Older students use regional college and technical connections when they need courses beyond the local timetable. Lyle’s district identity rests on the relationship between several Gorge communities and one educational center. The school system keeps those place names alive while giving students a continuous local path through graduation.
