Loon Lake School District Calendar 2026-2027

Loon Lake’s local K–6 campus and its much larger Home-Link program reach two geographically different communities north of Spokane. Children attending Loon Lake Elementary remain in a daily campus setting through sixth grade, where a small staff, family events and community activities give the elementary years a distinctly local character. Seventh grade takes resident students into neighboring secondary systems, so the K–6 years are the part of public education most closely tied to Loon Lake itself.

Home-Link greatly enlarges the district’s reach. The K–8 Alternative Learning Experience serves well over one hundred students, most of whom complete the bulk of their work at home. Parents act as the primary day-to-day instructors, while each student has a certificated teacher, an individualized learning plan, weekly contact and regular evidence of progress. A smaller group attends Thursday enrichment classes and field trips at the district site; distance participants connect through other approved methods. Home-Link keeps students enrolled in public school under shared family and district responsibility. Through these two settings, Loon Lake supports a neighborhood elementary school and a dispersed community of families whose classroom may be many miles away.
