Issaquah School District Calendar 2027-2028

Issaquah School District serves nearly 18,500 students across 110 square miles and several East King County cities, including Issaquah and Sammamish and portions of Bellevue, Redmond, Renton and Seattle. Sixteen elementary schools and six middle schools feed Issaquah, Liberty and Skyline high schools. The three comprehensive schools anchor different parts of a fast-growing region while sharing strong family involvement, extensive activities and access to advanced coursework.

High-school students can combine Advanced Placement, College in the High School, CTE dual credit, Running Start and regional career programs. Skyline alone has more than twenty-four CTE dual-credit courses and a DECA chapter with hundreds of members, while Issaquah High supports several forms of college-level credit.

Gibson Ek High School adds a smaller districtwide model. Students earn competencies through projects and spend four hours at internships on most Tuesdays and Thursdays with mentors across King County. The recurring workplace days make professional relationships and independent travel part of the high-school experience.

Growth is now producing another option. Construction began in 2026 on a new high school scheduled to open in fall 2027 for about 700 students, with full-time and part-time career-connected pathways planned for applicants from across the district. It is a future program and does not change 2026–27 assignments. Issaquah combines academically ambitious neighborhood schools, real-world internships and a community building new capacity as enrollment and expectations continue to rise.
