Creston School District Calendar 2026-2027

Creston keeps both its own public identity and a larger cooperative school life. Children begin at Creston Elementary, and the Creston campus also hosts the Wilbur-Creston junior-high years. High school is located in Wilbur. Creston and Wilbur retain separate elected boards and finances, yet students, families and staff share the Wildcats name across the two towns.

The Creston campus carries more than one age community. Elementary children take part in local classroom traditions and leadership work, while junior-high students bring secondary athletics, activities and a wider peer group into the same town. In summer 2026, the school was undergoing major heating, ventilation, electrical and interior improvements. District updates emphasized preserving the gym’s character while modernizing learning spaces, a reminder that the building stores community memory as well as current instruction.

Older students travel to Wilbur for high-school courses, graduation, FBLA, athletics and other cooperative activities. The shared program gives small cohorts enough students and staff to sustain opportunities that would be difficult for either district alone. Creston families experience the partnership in stages: a local elementary beginning, junior-high years in their own town and a final move to Wilbur, all while Creston continues to govern its school and contribute to the broader cooperative.
