Columbia School District #400 Calendar 2026-2027

At the meeting of the Snake and Columbia rivers, Columbia School District #400 draws students from Burbank, Wallula, Charbonneau and the rural land between them toward one school center in Burbank. Columbia Elementary, Columbia Middle School and Columbia High School create a complete local progression, while ECEAP and transitional kindergarten give younger families an earlier entry into the district. The roads into Burbank differ, but school events, athletics and graduation bring the service area together.

The district’s small scale supports a coordinated system of academic and family help. Bilingual services and preferred-language communication help parents follow school information, and student-support programs address learning, health and basic needs. Columbia Elementary received Washington State recognition in 2025–26 for closing achievement gaps, giving the youngest campus a public measure of progress alongside its early-learning work.

Older students carry the district into music, athletics, leadership, career and technical education, and community service. Those activities become especially visible at events such as the district community barbecue, where student performances, families, neighbors and partner organizations share the same grounds. A child from Wallula or Charbonneau may begin the day with a longer trip than a child living in Burbank, then spend the school years moving through the same three campuses and the same Coyote community.
