A student-built online journal about raising trout shows how Summit Valley turns one school project into science, observation and public communication. Middle-grade students record water conditions, fish development and classroom findings, then publish the work for families and community readers. The project belongs to a rural K–8 school serving households along the Addy–Gifford Road corridor in Stevens County. Children remain in the same local institution from the elementary years through eighth-grade graduation. With a small enrollment and one campus, projects can cross age groups: younger students encounter the aquarium and school events early, while older students take greater responsibility for measurements, explanations and presentations. District materials place a Summit Valley school in the community as early as 1910, giving current project work a long local setting.
